  • Ball Mount and Roof Rack for 2015 Ford Escape
Let's start with the ball mount; since your Escape has a towing package and a hitch, you should start with a ball mount. You mentioned a Class II hitch so I am assuming your receiver is 1-1/4". As for the correct rise or drop, since your camper company specified 16 inches to the top of the ball you'll only need to measure from the ground to the top of your hitch receiver and find the difference between the two measurements. If the height of your hitch is greater, you will need a ball...

  • How to Choose a Ball Mount for a 2018 Toyota 4Runner
In order to choose the correct ball mount for your new 2018 Toyota 4Runner you will first need to measure from the ground to the top inside edge of your trailer hitch and then from the ground to the bottom of the coupler on your trailer while level. The difference between the two measurements will tell you the correct amount of rise/drop you need to look for in a ball mount. Once you obtain these measurements you can either let me know what they are so I can make a recommendation or use...

  • Availability of Hitch Ball Welded to Ball Mount
We actually have exactly what you are looking for - no modification needed! I have attached a link to our selection of ball mounts that have 1 hitch ball included, like the Curt # C45154 rated for 7,500 lbs. You can filter through the options to find the correct ball mount for you application. If you would rather have a completely powder coated option with multiple hitch balls I recommend using the B&W Triple Tow Tri-Ball Mount for 2" Hitches # BWBMTT31004. This features 3 hitch balls...

  • What All is Need for Flat Towing a 2014 Mazda CX-5?
To tow your 2014 Mazda CX-5 behind your motorhome, it will require a few things. First, your CX-5 must be equipped with standard front-wheel drive. If your Mazda CX-5 has AWD, it should get towed with all four wheels off of the ground. Next, the Demco Kar Kaddy X Tow Dolly # DM9713093 will have disc brakes, offering superior stopping abilities. The tilting bed frame also allows for easy loading and unloading of the vehicle. The only downside to this option will be that it takes up a fair...

  • Difference Between Standard and Fusion 2" Curt Hitch Ball Mounts
The Curt Class III Ball Mount # C45056 comes with a standard 2" hitch ball that can be removed and used in the drop or rise position with the ball mount while the Curt Fusion Ball Mount # C45154 has the 2" hitch ball welded to the platform so it can only be used in the drop position. The Fusion looks a little cleaner but it does lose that rise position so I recommend going with the standard # C45056 just in case you ever need to remove the hitch ball and reinstall it on the other side...

  • Will 2022 Honda Passport Hands Free Liftgate Still Work with Trailer Hitch Installed
The Honda sensor kit you're talking about is a relocation kit so the hands-free liftgate will function as normal with a hitch installed. You can install either the Curt # C13421 or Draw-Tite # 76290 hitch on your 2022 Honda Passport and it shouldn't completely cover those sensors though. You should be able to just kick to either side of the receiver for the sensors to pick up your foot as opposed to swiping under the bumper like normal. The adapter kit is separate from the OEM hitch (although...

  • Can I Replace Rear Panel on 2022 Cadillac XT4 with Draw-Tite Hitch Installed
Yes, once the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76266 is installed on your 2022 Cadillac XT4 you'll be able to place that rear bumper fascia cover back over it for an OEM look. I'm attaching an installation video and some photos for you to check out about this. If you're planning on doing some towing with this hitch then I also recommend picking up the T-One Wiring # 118795, the Mount Bracket # 18144, and the Ball Mount Kit # C45154. • Recommended Hitch and Towing Package for 2012 Jeep Liberty to Transport Little Guy Trailer
Great news! I can help outfit your 2012 Jeep Liberty to be able to tow your Little Guy Trailer. First let's start with a trailer hitch for your vehicle. I recommend the Class III Draw-Tite Max Frame # 75578. I have linked an installation video on a similar model to yours for you to check out, the two vehicles are from the same generation so they should look exactly the same. Next, it sounds like your vehicle did not come with the factory 7-way so you will need to install a 4-way like...

  • 2014 Mercedes-Benz GLK250 Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendations
For your 2014 Mercedes-Benz GLK250 we have the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13155 and then for wiring you can either use the Tekonsha ZCI # 119250KIT which uses clamps to sense when to send the signals to your trailer so you aren't cutting into your OEM wiring. Then to complete your towing setup you need a ball mount kit like the Curt Fusion # C45154. Attached are some videos for you to check out.

  • Recommended Ball Mount For Towing a U-Haul Trailer With a Vehicle Receiver Height of 23"
I recommend using the Curt Fusion Ball Mount # C45154 for towing the U-Haul trailer with your SUV. This ball mount has a 4" drop to help level the trailer. It is important to level the trailer as best as possible when towing. Having the trailer level will help reduce the chances of the contents moving around and will help prevent damage to the trailer if the rear of the trailer is to close to the ground. It can also prevent you from being able to back into some driveways on hills if the...

  • How to Pick Out Ball Mount for 2020 Toyota Tacoma
I attached a help article that details exactly how to pick out the correct ball mount for your towing setup with your 2020 Toyota Tacoma but I can't tell you exactly what you'd need without more info. Picking out the correct ball mount will allow your trailer to sit as level as possible. Basically you will first measure the height from the ground to the top of the receiver opening on the hitch while on level ground. Next, you will measure the coupler height from the ground to the bottom...

  • Availability of a Ball Mount with a 3-Inch Drop and 3/4 Inch Ball Hole Diameter
I have two options for you to consider The Curt ball mount # C45220 will have a 2-3/8 inch drop and ball hole diameter of 1-inch. It's the closest to the 3-inch drop you referenced but currently there isn't any with a 3-inch drop only. The gross towing weight of the Curt ball mount is 7,500 pounds and tongue weight is 750 pounds. You can use a hitch ball bushing # 320000 to reduce the diameter of the hitch ball hole from 1-inch to 3/4 inch. See the picture I included. Another fixed ball...

  • Comparing The Curt C45056 And C45154 Ball Mounts
The difference between the # C45056 and the # C45154 is that the # C45154 is a fusion ball mount. Meaning the ball is permanent and can not be removed from the draw bar. The # C45056 has a removable ball. This allows it to be used in either the drop or rise position. Also, if you ever had a need to swap it out for a 1-7/8" or 2-5/16" ball you will be able to do so. Other than that they are virtually identical with a 7.5K capacity. If you will only ever be towing one horse trailer that uses...

The Curt Class III Ball Mount # C45042 referenced in your question includes a pre-torqued 2-5/16 inch hitch ball. This exact ball mount is not available from the manufacturer without the hitch ball, but I do have an option that should work well. I recommend taking a look at the Curt Ball Mount # C45154. This 2 inch ball mount features a drop of 3-3/4 inches or a rise of 2-1/2 inches. It features the same 7,500 pound towing capacity as the Curt unit you were looking at but also has a nice...

  • Solution for Bouncing Trailer with Low Tongue Weight
A weight distribution system wouldn't really help much in your situation. What you can do to help with the bounce is try moving weight up near the front of the trailer so that you can get the tongue weight of the trailer to be 10-15 percent of the total trailer weight. Getting the trailer as level as possible will also help. If your trailer is sitting nose high currently then that will also contribute to the bouncing. The part # C45154 is a 3 inch drop ball mount with a 2 inch hitch ball....
