RV Toad. Baseplate 7 pin socket question This will be mounted on a jeep baseplate. The ones ive seen have a spring loaded cap. As we run mud snd water trails Im concerned about protecting the connector socket . Is there a waterproof type ? Perhaps with a screw cap rather than a spring loaded cover ?

Hey Ron,
We don't currently offer a replacement 6-pole socket with a waterproof screw cap instead of the spring loaded cover. EZ-Connector has a magnetic 7-way # 319-R7-01 that you could potentially switch to since it has a waterproof plug to push into the socket. You can use the female socket side of this on the Wrangler and then splice on the male side to your 7-wire cable connecting the motorhome and Wrangler together. When not in use the plug will prevent water from seeping into the socket and corroding the contacts inside. I recommend also using a healthy glob of dielectric grease # 11755 on the contacts to help prevent moisture build up.

Hey Ron, how did the EZ Connector magnetic 7-way work out on your Wrangler’s baseplate? Did the waterproof plug and dielectric grease keep the socket clean after running through mud and water? Your update could make it easier for others who tow in similar conditions.
