My in-laws have a 38 Renegade Valencia RV They want to tow their 2018 Chevy Equinox behind it. What would we need to purchase from you to pull this SUV?

Hey Eric,

To flat tow your 2018 Chevy Equinox you're going to need the following equipment:

Baseplate: etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit # e98965.

Tow Bar: etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e34ZR. This tow bar comes with safety cables bracketed to the arms so you won't have to purchase them separately or worry about them dragging on the ground. The shank has a built in rise/drop but you still might need an adapter to keep the tow bar level between the motorhome and Equinox. I've attached a link to a guide that goes over how to measure for this.

Tow Bar Wiring Kit: If you have LED tail lights then you'll need the Roadmaster Smart Diode Wiring Kit # RM38FR. For incandescent tail lights you'll need part # RM26FR instead. These kits have diode's that you'll splice into your tail light wiring to display the traffic signals from your motorhome.

Braking System: Roadmaster InvisiBrake # RM-8700. Since the brake light switch wire in your Equinox isn't useable you'll also need to install the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751489 to get the braking signal for the indicator light of the InvisiBrake.

The battery will drain while you tow so I recommend installing a charge line kit # RM-156-25 as well so you don't have to deal with a dead battery when you get to your destination. If your motorhome doesn't have a charge line ran to the 7-way then you can use part # RM-156-75.
