Hi Erica,

For your 2020 GMC Terrain I recommend going with the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e59ZR for the trailer hitch as long as this isn't a diesel model. If you have a diesel model you'll need the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76217 instead. The # e59ZR is a simple bolt-on design and comes with a 2" receiver tube opening to mount your accessories in.

For the wire harness you'll need the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package # TK67KR if this model came with the factory towing harness. If you check out Brad's installation video below you can see if you have the factory connector for this to plug into.

If you don't have the factory tow package you'll need to go with the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118764 instead. This comes with connectors that will simply plug into your factory tail light wiring for a fast and easy installation.

For the ball mount you'll really want to measure the height of the hitch and coupler on the trailer to see if you need a rise or drop to tow the trailer level. I've attached a link to our help article on measuring for your rise/drop to help walk you through the process. Let me know what you measure and the coupler ball size and I'd be happy to recommend some options to fit your needs.

Hey Erica, how did things go with the hitch and wiring setup on your GMC Terrain? Were you able to confirm whether your vehicle had the factory tow package before choosing the harness? Your update could make it easier for the next person working on the same setup.
