The trailer hitch is working out great on my 2023 Chevrolet Equinox!
The hitch assembly itself seems sturdy and will work as intended. The installation was horrible for a few reasons.
-The website says no drilling required and that is a lie. The access hole is not large enough to get the bolt hardware through, so I then had to go buy a $60 (1 1/8") step drill bit to make it larger.
- I was installing this on a 2023 Chevy Equinox and I ran into an issue with installing the bolts in the wrong holes on the driver side because there are 4 holes, where as the passenger side has three holes. I ended up picking the wrong one and had to rerun two bolts. It is very difficult to get the bolt hardware back through the access opening. Then you are forced to take the fish wire string off the bolt so you can run it to the correct hole, and it does not thread as nicely the second time.
-The directions do not say you need to slide the driver side hitch into a small channel on the car frame, so that the rest of the bolts holes will match up and the hitch will be level. I got one bolt started on the passenger side first, only to find out I would have to take it off and correct this. This lead to having to thread the fish wire once again back onto a bolt, and it is very difficult to do without the bolt trying to slide up and get lost in the frame.
-The third issue I ran into was due to the second and third time use of the fish wire and getting the bolt and fish wire to fit in the holes of the hitch frame. I ended up having to use the step drill bit to make the hole bigger to have enough room to get the bolt with fish wire to drop down through the opening. I could have risked it and taken the fish wire off the bolt, but if it got knocked up into the frame then it would be gone forever.
In conclusion, the hitch quality seems fine but the installation directions were terrible and led me down a bad path with not disclosing that driver side channel in the car frame that you must slide the hitch into first. I'll take ownership of putting the bolts in the wrong holes on the driver side. My hope is the instructions can get updated with all my feedback to help the next person. Lastly, I think the hitch is very low to the ground and I hope I do not ruin my $2000 bike rack when pulling into a parking lot that has a severe transition from the highway.
the del was very good Except the box was in terrible shape when it got here it almost fell apart bring it into the house the hitch was in good condition
The product itself looks to be well built and a good quality product. As for the packaging and the shipping end that's not so great. As a lot of the reviews state the box was damaged and the hitch had some marks on it where it looks like it was dragged. I know the shipping is not the point of this review but boxing up the hitch could be done with better care. The box was way to big for the hitch and allowed it to move around in the box and puncture it, this exposed parts of the hitch to the outside. Luckily the fasteners were taped to the hitch so they were still in the box.

The hitch is solid, I did the install by myself and it took me about 1.5 hrs without a lift or any fancy tools to install it.That also included removing the rear trim for the bumper to access the hitch better and reinstall. Directions were pretty straight forward as a DIY person with mechanical experience. We have used it numerous times and its a really good hitch and well priced and well built. The only thing I didnt realize when I installed it is how low it sits compared to the OEM for $700. We have draw bars that bring the trailer up to level so not an issue, and it doesnt drag on the ground when leaving a sloped driveway like our old mini van did.
Hitch fit perfectly, online instructions Great. Came with all the bolts & hardware needed for installation. Carried 2 bikes from Michigan to Florida and back with ease.
My trailer hitch is an excellent addition to my 2020 equinox. Now I'm able to carry my bike wherever I need to go.

This was 3rd hitch we bought from etrailer for 3 different vehicles
Install was easy. Luv the you tube video directions, that made it so easy. Liked the reminder to spray a little paint where needed to grind frame work for figment to prevent rust. Very happy with product so far.
Followed video directions. Does take 2 people to lift in place, tight fit! Suggestion next customer let the ratcheting strap out enough so exhaust can hang down at least 5 “!!!!

Very pleased with the product. I haven't been able to use it but I am excited to when I get a chance. Installing it took longer than expected due to lack of equipment but I prevailed. Originally when I came home after work, I saw the package but it was damaged on all sides of the box. Took pictures just in case and proceeded to unbox carefully. The hitch and other components where not damaged thanks to securely fastening parts to top of hitch inside the package. Materials where good quality/shiny upon arrival. Videos on etrialer.com for installing the curt trailer hitch receiver helped a lot and provided additional components to get if needed. Tracking the package was very helpful, as I received constant updates and provided who last touched the package and where it was going next, also provided times when the act occurred. I would order other items through etrailer.com again!
Finding the right model and reading reviews on the site made choosing super easy. Shopping at Etrailer was quick, and even though we used our own installer, having other options was a bonus.
Very heavy duty hitch and assembly pieces. Installation video was very helpful and if you use a little patience and have 2 people, it installs pretty easily.
We were not certain that the hitch was in good condition when we saw the condition of the box. One side has one piece of the hitch poking out of the box. The cardboard was ripped. It did have paint scraped off. The other side of the box had 2 sections ripped thru the cardboard and has the paint scraped off. You need to reevaluate the the thickness of your shipping container so that the merchandise does not cut thru the cardboard. Who knows what it would have looked like if it had to travel any further. Luckily the pieces sticking out were not bent. We took photos of the box prior to
Opening it up A little more protective packaging would have probably helped.
Simple install particularly after watching the etrailer installation video on YouTube. Was able to install myself by lifting the hitch with a hydraulic jack. The fish wires are a genius idea that make this process super simple. Excellent product.
The fit on my 2026 Equinox was perfect. The installation took about an hour doing this myself on the ground. If you do it yourself to make it easier to get the receiver over the exhaust pull the plastic trim panel back and get the hanger pins and backets under the panel. From there I slid the receiver in then used a floor jack (in the photo) to get it into place and hold it there while I put the nuts on hand tight. My advice is to watch the install video on etrailers website, it will make it much easier for you.
Product arrived on time. Instructions are clear enough and installation was reasonably straightforward. Mounting hardware is nice and chunky, and the included fish wires are a godsend for snaking the bolts and spacers through the frame rails. I had one bolt hole in the hitch (rearmost on the right side) that the alignment was a little off but I was able to make it work. Mounted up nice and clean, good ground clearance. Great product and perfect service from etrailer, thanks!

This hitch does call for the access hole to be enlarged to allow for the hardware to pass through. I recommend taking a look at the video install that we have on a 2023 Chevy Equinox.
