Question:

Which product for etrailer fits the 2015 x5M. I keep saying non M models. I need one that fis the bmw 2015 x5M.

Hi Matthew,

For a 2015 BMW x5M you would need the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e84AR. This is going to replace the bumper beam and just have the receiver tube sticking out for a cleaner look. The installation is a bit involved because removing the fascia on a BMW requires a lot of care but is doable if you're a DIY kind of person. If not, you can use our installer locator (linked below) to find a shop near you to complete the installation.

If you're planning on towing a trailer or adding lights to a bike rack or cargo carrier then you'll also want to pick up the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C64RJ as well.

@Matthew Your ball mount is going to need to make up the difference in height between the trailer hitch on your BMW and the coupler on the trailer when it's level. You can measure from the ground up to the top of the inside of the receiver tube on your trailer hitch and then level the trailer and measure from the ground up to the bottom of the coupler to determine the rise or drop needed. You can also just go with an adjustable ball mount like the # e66PR, which has a 6" rise or drop depending on how you mount it. A 6" rise/drop should cover most if not all of the trailers that your BMW is rated to tow. It's super easy to adjust, and comes with a 2" and 2-5/16" hitch ball to fit a variety of trailers. If you have a trailer that has a 1-7/8" coupler you would need to go with a different ball mount like the B&W # BWTS10049B, which has all three sizes.
