The B&W Tow & Stow adjustable ball mount lets you tow a variety of trailers with different tongue heights. Having a 1-7/8" ball, a 2" ball and a 2-5/16" ball allows for even more versatility, making this the ultimate go-to ball mount if you own multiple trailers.
To switch the hitch ball, simply remove the pin holding the balls in place and rotate the entire block that the balls are mounted on until the ball you want to use is on top. Then replace the pin to secure the block in place.
Adjusting the height of the ball is just as easy. Remove the pins holding the ball mount platform in place and slide the platform up or down along the shank to the desired position. Once you have found the correct height, reinsert the pins and replace the clips.
When you're not towing, you can flip the ball mount platform around and stow it beneath your hitch so that you won't bang your shins. Just remove the pins to slide the ball platform down along the channel and up the back side so that the hitch balls face towards your vehicle. Then replace the pins.
The Tow & Stow ball mount features a channel that runs along both sides of the shank. This channel not only allows you to slide the ball mount platform up and down to adjust the ball height, but it also prevents removal of the platform when the ball mount is installed, which will help prevent theft of your trailer.
A slot is cut into the adjustment channel near the top of the shank. To remove the ball mount platform from the shank you will need to remove the entire ball mount from your hitch. Then remove the pins that hold the platform in place. Flip the platform around to the stowed position on the rear of the shank, and then slide it up until the center pin lines up with the slot in the shank. Pull the platform out towards the rear of the shank until the pin pops out of the adjustment channel.
When the Tow & Stow is secured in your hitch receiver, you will not be able to remove the ball mount platform. This is because the slot in the shank is positioned in such a way that the collar on your hitch will block the pin on the platform from being able to leave the channel. Even if the pins holding the ball mount platform in place are removed, the platform will still be confined to this channel. So, as long as a hitch lock is used to secure the entire ball mount in your hitch receiver, and a coupler lock is used to prevent your trailer's coupler from being disengaged from the ball, your trailer will be secure.

This is a very well made a versatile hitch. I have multiple trailers and this hitch stays on my truck all the time. So when it’s not in use I pull a few pins and put it in stow position. No cracked shins that way. I love it…
Great hitch. I bought the 3 ball with 8" drop hitch. My utility trailer needs it almost all the way down. My boat trailer needs it almost all the way up on my Chevy 2500HD. The only time I have removed it was to install a Pintle hitch one day to haul a trailer for a tractor. Tip: Use silicone spray on the adjustable pins. Use of lithium grease fouls them up so it's difficult to remove and reinstall them (collects dirt, dust). Also lubricate your hitch lock monthly, or you won't be able to open it if you ever want to remove the hitch.

After one tear the hitch is still like new. Regular cleaning and light litigation of the pins is required. Since I leave the hitch on my truck all the time I often forget to lubricate the hitch pin locked often as I should. Great hitch. Id buy it again. If youre considering buying one, do it. You wont regret it.
Love the adjustability of the hitch height and ease of changing ball size. I keep some grease on the pins keep adjusting smooth. Very nice hitch.
I've owned this hitch a year paired behind my 2008 GMC Sierra 2500HD with a 7" lift. Performs excellent! Towed several different trailers with different ball sizes and different towing heights totally over 5k miles. Don't ever plan on replacing it because it does everything I need it to do in great fashion! Thanks B&W for making a great product and etrailer for being an excellent provider!
I would like to split my review into two parts. First, I can't say enough about how great the customer service was from the beginning of my ordering process all the way through delivery of my hitch. Next will be my review of the hitch I purchased; I can't say enough about the B&W tow and stow hitch. I bought my first one many many years ago and it still performs today like it did when it was new. However, it only had a 5" drop and I needed more drop in my current truck/tire combination that I'm running. This hitch is the 7" drop 7 1/2" rise three ball model and likely the last hitch I'll ever have to buy. Don't let the price scare you if you have different trailers that require different height set-ups or ball sizes. These are the best hitches out there and Etrailer.com brings it to market as well or better than anyone.
One recommendation... Purchase a locking pin for through receiver use. This is a very nice hitch and someone may tempted to make it their own if it's not secured properly.
Just received ball mount yesterday. This ball mount is heavy duty with a quality feel. Fit and finish are impressive with durable coatings and tight tolerances. Allows me to tow my motorcycle trailer and cargo trailer with one ball mount (different ball sizes and heights for each trailer). I was worried that the 7” drop might be too low for my 2016 Ram 1500 with stock air suspension, but since installed, it looks good and I’m no longer concerned with possibly bottoming out during daily driving. Added the silencer pad upon initial install and haven’t heard any rattling. So far I’m overall impressed with this product.
When I first saw how pricey the hitch was I was pretty skeptical about buying. But now a year after having it installed on my truck and using it dozens of times I will NEVER buy a different hitch. I really like how it stows away under my truck when I don’t need it. I also like how it has 3 different size balls since I own several trailers with different size balls
I bought one for the "used" price from etrailer... i cant find anything wrong with it. The tow and stow is WORTH EVERY PENNY. Buy once, cry once, now i have to figure out what im going to do with all these receivers and balls I have laying around...
Seems to be holding up well. Just remember it's only a 10k ball mount. I originally ordered it for my front hitch but started using it on my rear hitch because it's very convenient to change ball size compared to the aluminum scaled hitch that I was using. Then I bought a 15,400 dump trailer and neither mount is rated for that amount of weight. I would recommend this mount.
Very convenient. Was concerned that in the stow position it would not fit under the bumper of my 2013 Yukon. It tucks under nicely with the middle ball pointing down.
Well built, very strong. The welds look awesome! This is a heavy ball mount but if you are considering an adjustable height and ball mount this is the best one I ran across. Most people will install it, lock it in place and seldom remove it so the weight isn't really an issue. I love the flexibility this hitch provides. Numerous height and ball diameter combinations allow me to back up to any of my trailers and hook on. I didn't think I cared about the ability to fold the balls up under the receiver but I actually use this feature and like it. Highly recommend!

I finally bit the bullet and bought a B&W hitch, 3 ball 7" drop, for my 2021 2500HD. This unit is a tank, not to mention looks pretty awesome as well. Adjustments can be made to any height or ball size needed in minimal time or effort. Now I have everything I need in 1 hitch to accomodate my 3 trailers with very different tongue heights. I was concerned the 7" drop would be dangerously low to curbs but there is plenty of room and no cause for concern This hitch is clearly an investment but over a lifetime of use, should be well worth the money. My only complaint is that it doesn't come with a locking pin
I have been using for almost 6 months now and it works AMAZING. No need to switch different size balls or different drop hitches. Having it all be in one is extremely convenient for people who use multiple trailers often.

It has been good hitch I measured pickup & measurements said 7” was what I needed but I drag hitch every time I drive in driveway when balls aren’t in hide mode will drag one of balls. Wished I had bought 5”. It is a finger masher if your not careful when adjusting height or moving to hide mode

A year later it’s holding up like a boss. I use it most everyday and it’s still doing very well
