Updated 12/22/2025 | Published 10/08/2024

Question:

Hi! I have a 2014 T@g tear. The tongue is triangular. Can it be modified so the no-latch coupler works? Thank you!

Hey Mike, thanks for reaching out!

I mean you can technically install the Curt QuickPin No-Latch Trailer Coupler # C22CR on an A-Frame but you're looking at some pretty heavy modifications and you'll need to hire out a professional welder for this too.

For something easier than the standard coupler you currently have, I recommend going with the Demco eZ-Latch # DM14793-81 instead. This is just easier to use altogether, and it can be bolted or welded on to your trailer frame depending on which installation type you prefer.

I don't think the lock you're currently using will work with the eZ-Latch so you'll also want to pick up the InfiniteRule Lock # IR66FR which has been specifically designed for the eZ-Latch system.

Hey Mike, how did things go with the Demco eZ-Latch coupler on your T@g trailer? Did it end up being an easier setup than your original coupler? Your update could make it easier for others working with a similar A-frame tongue.
