Troubleshooting Fitment Issues With A Roadmaster Baseplate And Crossbar To Direct-Connect Adapter

Updated 08/21/2024 | Published 08/16/2024

Question:

Hello, I ordered this part for a 2006 Dodge Durango. After installing the base plate kit: 52273-1, it seems that this part is not wide enough to span the distance between the base plates. Is this in fact the correct part to connect a Roadmaster style bar or did I order the incorrect part for my SUV?

Hey Philip,

Are you sure that you installed the Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit # 52273-1 with the arms on the correct sides? Could you email me some more pictures of the baseplate so I can get a better idea of why this isn't mating up?

@Philip Hey, I got your pictures. One in particular I've attached above because it looks like you do have the arms flipped. The arms have an angled edge on one side which you have facing out but in the instructions it shows them facing inward.
