How do I know if my RV has a charge line included or whether I need to purchase one?

Expert Reply:

Not all RV's come with a fully functional 7 way connector, so you'll want to test your 7 way trailer plug blade at 1- o'clock position when looking at the plug face. If this pin is not receiving power from the trailer battery then you'll need to install the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Motorhomes # RM-156-75. This will allow you to power a supplemental braking system like the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR without draining your vehicle battery.
