Hi Chris; since you already have a 4-way the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7 you looked at is exactly what you need. This comes with the adapter, wiring, breakers, and everything else required to upgrade the 4-way on your Highlander.

For a brake controller I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED24FR. The Liberty is simple, reliable, and won't take up space in the cab of your vehicle. The main unit installs behind the dash so only the control knob is visible. You can also use the # 331-TPSI-002 which will fit in one of your knock out panels for a factory look. The # RED69FR will also be required for installation.

I attached some installation videos below for your reference.

Hey Chris, how did the wiring upgrade go on your Highlander using the ETBC7 kit and Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty controller? Your update could make it easier for the next person planning a similar 7-way conversion.
