Question:

I recently bought a Dynamax DX3 freightliner M2 with air brakes factory installed is a prodigy brake controller .. i plan to flat tow a 2024 wrangler 4xe .. needs a battery charging during tow.. can I use the brake contoller installed? Not sure I want to go air force route thank you

Hey Gerry,

The Prodigy brake controller is only designed to activate electric trailer brakes and wouldn't be able to activate the brakes in the towed vehicle. If your motorhome has air brakes then you would need to go with an air brake compatible system like the Demco Air Force One # SM99243 or a portable system like the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR. The Patriot would require a 12v outlet # RM-9332 with constant power to be installed as well.

To keep the Jeep's battery charged while you tow you'll want to install part # RM-156-25. If the motorhome doesn't have a charge line ran then you'll also need part # RM-156-75.
