Question:
Hello... I want to use Blue Ox Patriot. This needs a 12V so I would need to keep my battery hooked up correct? I would like to also have tail lights for my 2009 JK Jeep Wrangler working as well, but all the kits say I need to disconnect my battery?? How to I power the Blue Ox then if my battery is disconnected? Just a little confused. Would there be a way to keep the battery hooked up for the Blue Ox Patriot, have tail lights, brake lights working and a way to have the RV charge the the tow vehicle battery?

There are several vehicles that require you to disconnect the vehicle battery when flat towing. The solution then to power a braking system like the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR is to use an outlet kit like the part # RM-9332.
This wire directly to the vehicle battery so that you can get power for the system directly while still allowing the vehicle battery to be disconnected.

I have a 2023 Ford F150 hybrid. The manual states to not connect ANY item directly to any battery as it will cause catastrophic electrical issues. That said the outlet 12v in console stays hot for 70 minutes. There seems to be a few options. 1. Run a 12v hot from RV to towed vehicle for braking system 2. Portable power system ( jackery) with a 12v plug. I am going with this option as ut totally bypasses the hybrid issues, is portable, rechargeable and no wiring.
