Can someone please take a look at my list below and let me know if Im missing something? I think might need some type of towed vehicle batter charger with the patriot brake system, not sure. Hi Arthur,

I took a look at your list of parts to flat tow your 2026 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and it looks like you have almost everything you need! For the Blue Ox Patriot Supplemental Braking System part # BLU37TR, it plugs directly into a 12V outlet to power it, so you'll need to install one in your vehicle. Jeeps don't come with a 12V outlet, so I recommend the Roadmaster 12V Outlet Kit part # RM-9332 which runs to the Jeep's battery to provide power to your braking system.

Speaking of the battery, you'll also need a battery charge line kit to make sure your Jeep's battery doesn't get drained while being towed. I recommend the Blue Ox Towed Vehicle Battery Charge Line Wiring harness part # BLU44ER. It has a four function LED indicator on the charger so you can see its power status with just a glance, whether its charging, not charging, etc. A more cost-effective option would be the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles part # RM-156-25. It works just as well as the Blue Ox but doesn't have the LED indicator and requires more time for installation.

I use a lithium battery pack, happens to be a Jackery 2000model, that I use for my CPAP. I just put it in the passenger side and plug in the blue ox. The blue ox will plug into a cigarette lighter. It does not draw much less than 5 %of battery over a days drive. For lights on the tow vehicle I bought a wireless magnetic system. Just plug in the transmitter to the tow vehicle stick the light on the vehicle being towed and you are all set.

@Mark Magnetic tail light kits are a great option as well and super easy to set up! What kind of vehicle do you flat tow?

I don't see safety chains/cables on your list. The 12v outlet needs to have power with the key off. Our 2017 Equinox has an accessory plug in the rear cargo area that is always hot, I ran a long 12v cigarette lighter extension to it. The system works great, enjoy the road.

@Scott The Blue Ox Alpha Tow part # BX7380 includes coiled safety cables rated for 8,500lbs for towing so he should be good to go! Tow bar and safety cables all included in one!
