Question:

Hi there, I have a 2008 volvo xc90 already wired with a 4 pin trailer connector. I would like to add a seven pin connector and brake controller. I realize there are multiple brake controllers to choose from. Can you tell me which wiring kit I need for the seven pin connector, wiring to my brakes and then the options for connecting to a brake controller? Ill be pulling a trailer that is approximately 2800 fully loaded. Thank you. John

Hey John, so the # ETBC7 that you referenced is the correct kit to convert your 4-way to a 7-way and wire in a brake controller so you are on the right track. So then for a brake controller I really like the Redarc Tow Pro Liberty part # RED52VR which only puts a small knob on the dash of your vehicle and uses an internal sensor to determine how hard to apply the trailer brakes.

@JohnV Absolutely.. the Tekonsha Brake EVN part # TK63VR is a really great option that works well and is priced great. In this price range there's nothing that comes close.
