We have just what you are looking for.

If you do not have a 4-way connector on your 4Runner I recommend first installing the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # HM43415. This harness plugs into the connection points in the rear cargo area of your 4Runner.

Then, you will need part # ETBC7. This plugs into the 4-way connector. There will be four remaining wires. The white ground wire is attached to a clean bare metal surface. The black wire is run to the positive battery post on the vehicle. The blue is attached to the blue wire from a brake controller. The purple wire is used as a reverse light circuit if needed. If not needed it can sikply be capped and placed out of the way.

When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.

If you do not have a brake controller and your trailer has brakes I recommend the Prodigy P2, part # 90885. This is our most popular brake controller because it is easy to install and operate.
