Question:

Hi there, I plan to install this Hayes-Lemmerz Energize III+ Electric Trailer Brake Controller - Proportional on my Volvo 2012 Xc60. I am having problem figuring out where to connect all the wires. Can you point me to a detailed wiring diagram or video? Thanks,

You will need to start with a 4-way (if you do not have one) installed on your 2012 Volvo XC60 to install a brake controller. For that you would want the # 118739 which I attached an install video for.

From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the Hayes brake controller # HA81742B. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well. The install video shows this installed on a similar 2016 Volvo XC90 which won't be exactly identical but the majority of the install will be the same as far as where the wires should go and why.
