Which Baseplate Kit For 2024 Chevy Colorado Works On ZR2 Model?

Question:

Looking at upgrading my dingy to a new Chevy Colorado zr2. What are your recommendations for a base plate kit? I currently have a roadmaster tow bar.

Hey Chris,

For your 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 you'll need to go with the Demco Baseplate Kit # DM27YV. As of right now (June 2024) Roadmaster does not make a base plate kit compatible with the ZR2 model of your truck.

You'll still be able to use your Roadmaster tow bar by also picking up one of the below adapters depending on the model of your tow bar:

If you have a Roadmaster Tracker, Falcon 2, Falcon All-Terrain, Blackhawk, Blackhawk All-Terrain, and Sterling tow bars with serial numbers up to 14,500 you need: # DM9523036

If you have a Roadmaster Nighthawk All-Terrain, Sterling All-Terrain, and Sterling tow bars with serial numbers 14,501 and above you need: # DM9523062

If you have a Roadmaster Eagle and Eagle 8000 you need: # DM9523014

If you have a Roadmaster Falcon 5250 you need: # DM9523023

You're also going to need to pick up the following parts to finish your flat tow setup:

Wiring: # RM-15267, and I'd recommend Battery disconnect # RM-766 if you have a gas motor, or # RM93MR if you have a diesel or you'll need to manually disconnect the battery each time

Braking System: Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR with 12v outlet # RM-9332

Your existing safety cables that you have with your tow bar will work with this setup.
