Does The Demco Recon 5TH Wheel Hitch Need Lube or a Teflon Plate?

Updated 04/19/2024 | Published 04/17/2024

Question:

Hi... Looking at the Demco Recon 5th wheel hitch, do you use a lube or Teflon plate with this or just grease? I have a Rhino Kingpin on the camper which has no cushion. I like that this has bushing to take up some of the road vibration, this was recommended by an RV tech. Thank you.

I recommend using a Lube Plate # 16721 over covering the Demco Recon 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # DM8550043 in Grease # L74FR. The lube plate is much cleaner and you will not have to constantly clean off the dirt and apply new grease over time.

Hi Bud... Thank you. Another question. The specs for this say height adjustment is 15-1/2 - 18 Inch Tall, is that from the bed of the truck or from another point? I have a PullRite that is currently from bed to top of the plate between between 18" and 19" and gives me the 6" plus inch's I need from truck bed to bottom of camper. 2022 - Chevy 2500HD. Thank you..

@GaryB The height is always measured from the top of ribs in the trucks bed to the top of the hitch head.
