Question:
I have an AMPLock U-LPCVR 5th Wheel Lock and it wont fit on my 5th wheel pin with this Locking plate adapter in place. What do you recommend using given the additional material on the bottom and rear of this plate being in the way? Thanks,

Expert Reply:
The AMPLock King Pin Lock for 5th Wheel Trailers # AMP77FR you mention is for deterring theft, while the Demco Autoslide Locking Plate for MOR/ryde Pin Boxes # DM6025 is designed to prevent your king pin from pivoting inside your hitch.
The two would not be used interchangeably and are meant to be used separately. So when you're towing you'd use # DM6025, and when you get to your campsite and unhitch you'd use # AMP77FR to protect your king pin.
You could also use a smaller lock like the etrailer 5th Wheel King Pin Lock # e98896 which would allow you to leave your plate on and offer some level of theft deterrence.
