Hello, Im looking for the needed parts to install a wireless brake controller on my 2023 Subaru Forester Wilderness. The camper I need to tow is a 2020 Aliner Ranger 10. Could you confirm whether or not ETBC7L with C51180 will work? Thanks! Misty

Hi Misty,

The # ETBC7L along with the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller # C51180 would be a compatible option for your 2023 Subaru Forester, but you might need to install one other wire harness first. If you don't currently have a 4-pole trailer wire harness then you'll first need to install the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118467. This comes with plug-in connectors for a fast and easy installation.

Once complete you can connect the 4-pole connector to the one on the # ETBC7L and then splice in the other wires in the following manner:

Black - run to the battery with included in-line circuit breaker
White - ground to frame using included self-tapping screw and ring terminal
Blue/Yellow - cap these off with some electrical tape since these won't be used.

I recommend also picking up a no-drill bracket # 18136 to make mounting the # ETBC7L on the hitch much easier.

Once complete you can plug-in the Echo # C51180 and begin the syncing process with the OneControl app on your smartphone.
