Question:
Hey all, Were getting a trailer that has a 7pin connector with electric brakes, and we currently drive a 2022 Santa Fe Hybrid. We need to get a hitch, and we need to get a 7pin wiring setup for the Santa Fe so we can safely tow the trailer its around 1500lbs, the Hybrid Santa Fe does 2000lbs with electric brakes. What parts would we need to buy to make this happen? Thanks!

For a complete setup to tow your trailer you will need a hitch, wiring, ball mount, and a brake controller. I recommend the following:
-etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e28AR
-Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package # C68JR
-etrailer Ball Mount Kit for 2" Hitches # 989900
-Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED52VR
The etrailer hitch is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It features a concealed cross tube and a bolt-on installation. It also has a matte black powder coat finish which gives it an OEM look. The maximum gross trailer weight is 4,000 lbs, but you will be limited by the capacity of your vehicle.
The Curt wiring harness plugs into the factory port underneath the rear of your vehicle, providing you with a 7-way. Ideally you have the tow package with this port, but you will need to check to be sure. If you don't have the factory connector, you will need to use a universal wiring harness like the # 119147KIT along with the # ETBC7.
The etrailer Ball Mount Kit has two ball mounts, one with a 3/4" rise or 2" drop and the other with a 2-3/4" rise or 4" drop. It also comes with a 1-7/8" and 2" ball, as well as a ball mount bag to store everything in.
The final piece is the Tow-Pro Liberty brake controller. The main unit mounts out of sight behind your dash, with only the control knob visible. This takes up virtually no space in the cab while also providing a factory look. The knob controls the braking power and acts as the manual override.
I have attached some review and installation videos below for your reference.
