Troubleshooting No Power to Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller On a 2023 Toyota Tacoma

Question:

The controller does not turn on. I do not think the button works no positive feeling from pushing the button and no lights. How do I remove the controller from my dash board to inspect? 23 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport

If your Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR doesn't have the light lit up then you likely have no power getting to the controller (see attached from manual).

What you will need to do is check the black wire from the 4-wire pigtail at the back of the controller to see if it has power on it or not. If it doesn't then that would explain why the controller isn't powered and you need to figure out if it's a fuse or a bad connection somewhere.

To check the connections from the control module to the control knob you'll be looking for a black ethernet-style wire. I'm attaching a photo showing the wire you'll be looking for. It will be under your dash somewhere.
