Features to know about

Keeps Your Trailer Level: 5" Rise or 6-1/8" Drop

Getting your trailer level is key to a smooth, steady tow. This mount gives you the flexibility of a 5" rise or a 6-1/8" drop so you can dial in the right height for whatever you’re hauling. The solid steel build keeps your trailer tracking straight and stable over the road without wiggle or sway.

Built to Handle Heavy Loads: 10,000 lbs GTW Strength

When you’re towing large campers, boats, or loaded equipment trailers, you need a mount that won’t flinch under pressure. This Curt ball mount is rated for 10,000 lbs gross towing weight and 1,000 lbs tongue weight, giving you reliable strength for demanding hauls. The sturdy steel construction holds up through years of pulling without bending or flexing.

Durable Finish That Fights Corrosion: High-Gloss Black Powder Coat

Towing gear takes on rain, grime, and salty roads, but this mount’s corrosion-resistant, high-gloss black powder coat keeps it looking sharp and working strong. It’s a finish made to resist chips and rust so your gear stays dependable season after season.

Simple, Straightforward Setup: Fixed Design That Just Works

No extra parts or complicated adjustments here—just a fixed steel shank that slides cleanly into your 2" hitch receiver. The ball platform has a 1-1/4" diameter mounting hole that fits standard 2" or 2-5/16" hitch balls (sold separately). With its 9-3/8" length from the center of the pin hole to the center of the ball hole, it’s easy to line up and secure with a standard 5/8" hitch pin (sold separately).

Compatible With Sway Control Systems

For setups that use friction sway control, this mount works with the Reese Sway-Control Bracket # RP26003 and compatible hitch balls like # 40038 when used with bushing # 58184. It’s a solid foundation whether you’re aiming for smoother handling or extra stability on long highway runs.

Its still fine and did exactly what I wanted, except the ball began to rust immediately. But I was able to tow my camper level. But due to a back injury, in the Navy in 1976, I had to sell it

Ok, so, hitch arrived a day before they said it would, GREAT. My purchases with etrailer have alway been GREAT, no BS!!! They do what they say, order goes in, notice of item shipped within 12 hours and Wham it is on my door step. There is not much tto scream about over a ball hitch, this is what it is and this one is top of the line.

Thank you all at etrailer,

Perfectly just as the day I purchased it

by:
This Curt hitch was exactly like described. I watched the provided video and it bolted right on in 30 min, just as described. Nothing was left out and I was very pleased. The wiring install went exactly the same. Easy! Saved a lot in install fees. My 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan is ready to tow my brush trailer now. Thanks

Perfect size drop hitch for my 2015 Escalade to tow my surfboat.
Welds look great and so does the powder coat, arrived fast and was packaged great.
Only thing I noticed was the description says its a 6-1/8 drop but the label on the hitch says 6". Not a big deal
by:
Bought this for a lift hitch. It bent. Very disappointed. Other hitches I looked at had welded support for both the lift and the drop. Would have purchased different had I known.
by:
Highly recommend! Exactly as expected and fast shipping. Thank you

  • Ball Mount For 2002 Toyota Sienna With Curt Hitch C13511 For Towing U-Haul Trailer
I can help you out with the right ball mount and hitch ball for your 2002 Toyota Sienna so you can tow a U-Haul trailer with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13511. When we installed this hitch on a 2002 Sienna, we found that the distance from the ground to the top of the hitch receiver was 13-1/2 inches; since the bottom of the U-haul coupler is going to be 18-1/2 inches from the ground (that is what they mean when they say "optimal ball height" as that is how far off the ground the...

  • Recommended Ball Mount W/ 5" of Rise for a Volvo XC90
Rebekah, so unfortunately the Curt RockerBall # C40047 won't physically fit on your Curt Rebellion XD # C83WR so the two can't be used together. What you could do instead is, use the Curt Ball Mount for 2" Hitches # C45336 instead which will work with the Rockerball and has that 5" of rise you're looking for and then get the Replacement Sway Control Tab for Weight Distribution System # 3442 welded on so you can use a weight distribution system.

We have numerous ball mounts that offer at or around 5 inches of rise! For a basic ball mount with a 5 inch rise you can use Curt ball mount # C45336. It is rated for a maximum of 10,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 1,000 pounds tongue weight. It measures 9-3/8 long from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole. The ball hole is 1-1/4 inches in diameter. For a ball with the proper size shank to fit that hole you can use # A-90 for a 2 inch or # 19286 for a 2-5/16...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Ball Mount Rise for U-Haul Trailer Coupler for 2015 Mazda CX-5
On your 2015 Mazda CX-5, the measurement you need is from the ground to the inside top of the receiver. If you look at the attached video we that measurement listed at 15-1/2 inches so it is different from the 13 inch you referenced. For your 13 inch measurement you will then need a 5 inch rise. I recommend the B&W Heavy-Duty Ball Mount - 5" Rise, 6" Drop - 10-3/4" Long - 16,000 lbs # BWBMHD30014 or the Curt # C45336 and then you will need the # A-90 hitch ball. The pin and clip #...

This hitch has higher ratings, with a towing capacity of 3500 lbs and a 525 lb tongue weight capacity. The advantage to this hitch is that the receiver tube is removable. • Will a Ball Mount with More Rise Reduce a Vehicle's Sag
Switching your ball mount to one with a 5 inch rise, like the Curt # C45336, will help level your trailer but it won't take the sag out of your 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe. The trailer's tongue weight will still be pushing the rear of the vehicle down. To actually eliminate the sag you may be able to load the trailer with less tongue weight however that could cause additional sway if the trailer's tongue weight is then too low. The best solution is to add a weight distribution system. If...
