Is There a Difference Between 7-Way Round and 7-Way Blade Connector

We have f 550s and tow small mini excavators and skidsteers. Our trucks came with flat pin connectors. I was told to switch these to round pin connectors for commercial use. Is there a difference?

So the round 7-way is more common on heavy duty setups whereas the blade style 7-way is much more commonly used on the lighter duty RV setups. Aside from compatibility there really isn't a significant difference.

You could use a 7-way round to 7-way blade connector like the part # PK12727 if ever needed.

Most likely you have a 7-way at the rear of your tow vehicle which I attached a diagram for how it would be pinned out. You'd want to use a circuit tester like part #PTW2993 to test the pins of the 7-way to make sure they match the diagram.
