Question:

I am looking to flat tow my 2022 Ford Ranger 4X4 and my cousin is going to give me his tow bar. It is a Demco 9511010 Commander Tow Bar and I was wondering if this tow bar will work, and what base plate kit I will need? Also do you carry a braking device that can stay mounted in the vehicle?

Yes, you can use the Demco Commander Non-Binding Tow Bar DM9511010 to flat tow your 2022 Ford Ranger. Here are the parts I recommend going with:

- Demco Commander Tow Bar DM9511010 (comes with safety cables)
- Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM9519343
- Brake Kit # DM86VR (motorhome hydraulic brakes) OR Kit # DM26VR (motorhome air brakes)
- Brake-Lite Relay Kit # RM-88400 (will prevent the towed vehicle's brake signal from overriding the turn signal from the RV)

If you don't already have wiring then I recommend picking up the Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267, and then you also may need a high-low adapter depending on the height of your motorhome hitch receiver. Attached is an article about high-low adapters for you to check out - the bracket height is 15" for the Demco base plate kit.

The base plate kit is compatible with your Commander tow bare and the braking kits are designed to stay installed on the tow vehicle and are very easy to get set up for towing.
