Question:

I tow a 2020 CR-V and felt it was braking too hard, can I dial it down?

Absolutely, Dave. You can fine-tune the Curt RVi Series 4 Portable Flat Tow Brake System # RVI44FR 's brake pressure and sensitivity right from the Bullseye monitor in your motorhome. In your case, some people try stepping down from Small SUV to Compact Car under the Brake Pressure setting, but technically that's not the correct setup for your SUV. If it still feels a bit grabby, you can reduce the Sensitivity too. The goal is a gentle tug, not a jolt, when the system activates.

Let me know if you get this taken care of and dialed back down to suit your application.

Thanks Andrew, that helps. If I lower the sensitivity too much, will it still stop me safely in an emergency?

@Dave Great point, Dave. Yes - even with sensitivity dialed down, the RVi4 will still give you full braking in a panic stop. Sensitivity mainly controls how quickly it reacts to lighter braking. I usually suggest making small changes and testing until it feels smooth but confident. Do you want me to share the step-by-step on adjusting it through the Bullseye monitor?
