Does Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Require Fascia Trimming on 2023 Acura MDX

Question:

The video shows the person cutting the facia, but the comments say that no facia cutting is needed. Jason L asked Does Draw Tite Hitch for 2022 Acura MDX Require Fascia Cutting to Install To which Jameson C replied The Draw Tite Hitch part # DT42MR that you referenced does not require any fascia cutting or drilling to install. It basically just bolts up in place like you mentioned. Also, Joseph asked a question How far does the Draw-Tite Receiver Hitch Extend Below the Rear Bumper on a 2022 Acura MDX? and Jarred H replied The installation instructions show a diagram of a 4 inch wide by 3.5 inch wide hole needing to be cut out of your bumper trim to allow access for the hitch receiver. We have conflicting answers here. Does the DT42MR require or not require cutting. I am leasing the vehicle and I do not want to do any cutting. BTW, I am installing on a 2023 MDX but this hitch shows as compatible. Thanks

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT42MR does require cutting a 4" x 3-1/2" portion of the fascia on your 2023 Acura MDX. For a hitch that does not require any fascia cutting use the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e27KR.
