What hitch would work best for carrying a bike rack on a 2022 Acura MDX? 2 35 lb mountain bikes.

Expert Reply:
The Curt # C22HR Class III hitch you'd looked at would be a great choice for carrying a bike rack and other hitch mounted accessories, as well as towing should the need ever arise. According to Curt, the hitch fits all 2022 Acura MDX models, including the Hybrid.
If you'll be towing with the hitch at all, you'll also need the # TK59VR trailer wiring harness, a # 2753 ball mount and a # 19260 for a 1-7/8 or # 63845 for a 2 inch trailer ball.
If you don't already have a bike rack, a platform rack such as the # SH22P Kuat Sherpa 2.0 would be an excellent choice for 2 mountain bikes weighing up to 40 lbs each with wheelbases up to 47 inches long.
The lightweight rack (only 32 lbs) provides an anti-rattle feature and includes keyed-alike locks to secure the rack to the vehicle and the bikes to the rack.
