Can Connection of Brake Lite Relay to Stoplight Switch be At Brake Pedal

Question:
I will be towing my 2018 Ford F150, Key start not button. I have already installed the 4 diode Brake/Turn signal on the F150. Im going to install the brake light relay for my Brake Buddy. #88400. In the schematic it has the relay output #30 connect to towed vehicles brake light. Question: Can I connect to the brake light wire under the dash which would put it before the diode, OR do I have to run a wire all the way back to the brake light after the diode ? Thank you,

You can attach the Brake Lite Relay part # RM-88400 to the stoplight switch at the pedal like you mentioned.
