What's up, everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna be checking out this Fastway breakaway cable. So this is gonna be a replacement part for the one that came with your breakaway switch. So if something happened, you lost it or it broke, you can easily replace it. Let's check it out. It's gonna plug in the exact same way here on our breakaway switch.
It's also that coil design, so that's better than the straight steel cable design 'cause those usually have extra to them that you have to find a place for, or they can sag down as they get it hooked up. With this coil design, when you've got it hooked up to the hitch, you can see it's gonna stay in a straight line and be outta the way of everything else. To give you a better example, I wanna compare you with straight steel cable one, and see it had to be zip tied to take up some of that extra cable, and that's just kind of annoying that you have to do that. That's why this one's far better with a coil design because you're not gonna have that problem or have to do this. Plus, you have this sturdy, heavy-duty carabiner at the end rather than just a steel cable loop.
This is a universal fit for breakaway switches as long as it's that style of end on there. And it's also gonna come in six foot and four foot options. This rv emergency brake cable is exactly what I was looking for. It is coiled so that it will not drag or fray. I went to the rv dealer for a cable and they did not carry them or have any type of cable to use.
These are an awesome replacement product for the cables. We run a lot of trailers for our business and were constantly replacing the worn out cables. These have eliminated that safety concern and cost.

After a year of use I have been very happy with my Fastway Coiled Breakway Cable. No deterioration of the red plastic covering has been noticed. I find that it is necessary to keep the pivot point in the Carabiner clip lubricated well to make it work smoothly. Other than that, no problems.
Fit the bill to replace the safety cord on our blue ox/patriot brake setup. Quick delivery and reasonable price.
This is exactly what I needed to connect by breakaway switch to the truck. It keeps the wire tight and will not drag on the ground. It is also read and serves as a visual reminder. Too bad it does not include one of the plastic switch keys.

The coiled cable works much better than a regular straight cable as it stays up against the under side of the frame with no sagging plus the red color makes it easy to see.

Like it much better than a straight cable. It stays up out of the way, and stretches out and comes back in place. No more dangling cable to get caught on things.
Received the coiled breakaway cable quickly as expected from etrailer. As with many other folks the standard cable wound up frayed from dragging and the coiled wire seemed like a reasonable answer. It is easy enough to install. Now I am waiting for our next outing to give it a final grade. Expecting good things.
Had the 4 footer on my popup, bought a larger trailer and needed a longer cable. This cable is great, it's coiled up and tangle free when not being used, neat with no sagging when in use.

Still working great, holds up fine to the elements.
Old one was worn and frayed. Nice replacement to make sure emergency brake system will work properly.

Great little product works well and is simple
I love this breakaway cable. I had one on my travel trailer. When I upgaded to a 5th wheel the long cable that came with the trailer caught on the hitch and pulled out activating the emergency breaks. Luckily I was just backing it into the yard. This cable keeps it from hanging.
I bought the longer break-away cable per the advise of others. Although my 14' trailer calls for the shorter cable, the longer one actually stays coiled together much more nicely & looks much neater while towing. If it's needed, my opinion is that it's not going to matter much whether the emergency trailer brakes come on 4 feet away or 6 or more feet away, if you ever do have the misfortune to stretch the coiled cable out.
Glad I bought the longer one.
Great alternative to regular break away cable
So much better than the straight cable that just ends up hanging unless you coil it up. I am using it on a 5th wheel. It was such a pain before having to pull the pin from one of the hitch mounts to latch the cable to. Now with the clip on the end it is as easy as can be.

Still as good as the day I purchased it.
Had this on my last trailer. Wanted it for our cargo trailer.

A lot better than stock cable!
After the original Breakaway cable got snagged up and damaged as I was pulling away after unhooking from the trailer. I bought this replacement item and the coil feature helps to keep it out of the way. Prefect fit and adaptation to my trailer.
