Question:

My car has a tow package, but not electric brakes. So it has the 4 conductor flat connector. If I need to pull a trailer equipped with electric brakes and having the 7 conductor round connector. Can I use the Curt C57672 to get my brake and turn signals working and leave the other wires disconnected? Id be pulling an empty trailer so it is within the weight limit of my tow package. Thanks.

The Curt Trailer Connector Adapter # C57672 will allow you to connect to the 4-way flat on your 2010 Lexus RX 350 and have a 7-way connector. The only functions that will work on the 7-way is the trailer running lights, brake lights and turn signals. While the trailer weight may be within the specifications of your Lexus you will need to verify with your state laws that you can legally pull your trailer without the electric trailer brake. You can easily add the Curt Echo Brake Controller # C51180 to this 7-way by adding the Charge Line Kit # RM-156-75. This will power the Echo which then receives signal from the 4-way wiring and will send power to the trailer brakes. The Echo is controlled through your smart phone using the Curt Echo app.
