How to Power Trailer Lights on a Trailer Towed by a 2002 Chevy Silverado

I have a homemade stock trailer that needs tail lights. I have looked at a few on your website but am unsure how you connect them to get power? The trailer is about 12ft long. Im towing it with a 2002 Silverado. Please let me know. Thanks!

Your 2002 Chevy Silverado should have a factory 7-Way trailer connector. If it does not the first thing you will need is to install one using # 30955 if there is a wiring harness above the spare tire with a round plug at the end. Or, if there is a bundle of wires you will need # HM40975 with wiring harness # PK11998. I have included links to videos that show installations of both of these connectors.
Both connectors also have a 7-Way and a 4-Way. So you can use one of our trailer light tail light kits, see link. The most popular is # TL5RK. It will plug into a 4-Way connector on the tow vehicle. The vehicle powers the trailer lights.
If you have a 7-Way only already on the truck and use one of these light kits then you will need to use a 7-Way to 4-Way adapter, # PK12716.
