Features to know about

Confident Heavy-Duty Towing: Class V Strength with a 2" Receiver

When you need a hitch that can actually handle serious weight, this Curt Class V receiver is up for it. It’s rated for a maximum gross trailer weight of 16,000 lbs and up to 17,000 lbs when used with weight distribution. The tongue weight limit is 2,400 lbs whether you’re using weight distribution or not. That kind of strength makes it a great match for heavy loads like campers, boats, and work trailers. Reviewers call it “definitely heavy duty,” and it’s easy to see why—nothing about this setup feels light-duty or uncertain.

Easy Bolt-On Install: No Welding, No Guesswork

The hitch bolts right to the frame using existing holes, so you don’t have to weld or fabricate anything. The mounting hardware kit and installation instructions come in the box. It’s designed to line up precisely with the factory attachment points, which makes install time shorter and avoids frustration when you’re doing the job in your driveway.

Built to Last: Fully Welded Steel with Corrosion Resistance

This hitch uses a sturdy square-tube design that’s fully welded for strength and alignment. The gloss black powder coat finish sits over a protective base coat to fend off rust and corrosion from road grime and weather. You can count on that heavy steel construction to stay solid through years of towing and hauling without flexing or wearing thin.

Ready for Everyday Use: Standard 2" Opening for Common Accessories

With its standard 2" x 2" receiver opening, this hitch works with most common ball mounts, cargo carriers, and bike racks. That means you can set it up once and keep using the same gear you already own—no adapters or special fittings needed. Whether you’re hauling equipment during the week or heading out for recreation on the weekend, it’s built to handle all of it.

Easy install and incredibly beefy and stout. I pull my flatbed and jeep wrangler unlimited to trails. Yesterday I just got home from towing to Hurricane, Utah and back. Rough roads big grades, no problems from any component of my trailer system.

by:

No comparison to the stock hitch. Very sturdy with no flex. One less worry when towing a heavy trailer. A true bolt on hitch. Great price and fast shipping. Thanks etrailer.

I installed this hitch on my 2009 Cadillac Escalade EXT truck! Yes fit perfectly like stock! Had to drill a couple of holes. Lol. The weight difference was a joke compared to the stock crap the factory had on the truck.

by:

This hitch fit my 2009 Chevy Silverado 2500 perfectly. The receiver slot is about 2.5 inches higher than the factor receiver that it replaced, which you may need to consider if you have a weight distribution hitch with bars that ride on a bracket on the trailer tongue instead of chains -you will need to reset those kinds of hitches for the new height. This is a very well-made hitch and was easy to install.

by:

Built like it was made to last a long - long time! Excellent quality! Super easy install! My factory receiver just failed on my 2003 Chevy 2500 Duramax (no complaints here in the salt belt...) - and I wanted to replace it with something tough and worry free... Found it! This receiver is built like a tank! Thank you for carrying a fine product! We will do business again. : )

by:

Perfect fit for my 2005 2500 Silverado. The factory receiver only had 7500# capacity so I figured an upgrade to a class V was a good idea. I cut the plug bracket off of the old receiver and welded it to a piece of flat stock for easy mounting to the bumper.

Thanks for your business and your review, Mike! Just a quick note - while aftermarket hitches may have a higher capacity, the maximum capacity of a towing setup is limited to the capacity of the lowest-rated component.

by:

The Hitch fit perfectly
The factory
hardware also worked with exception of the the 2 with existing captured nuts those 2 bolts would need to be 1 1/2 inch longer I would also like to see the 7 way bracket be part of the assembly so I wouldn’t have to drill into the new hitch assembly.
GM also uses 2 additional bolts to support bumper those would be nice to have as part or the hitch since this is a direct replacement bolt on.

by:

The hitch fit perfectly. I was disappointed that it lacked the bolts that went into the frame (the welded-on nuts) closest to the bumper. This should be standard in the packaging, since the old bolts are typically not able to be reused.

Arrived 3 days free shipping....
Installation
a snap although we have a lift !
Appreciate the bolt stays so it can be installed by just tightening but on underside no wrench on top needed !
Used on a 2005 Silverado 2500 with 6.6 Dura
Also included pic of original equipment ....broke 15 years later and much WORK

@Bert Glad to hear it Bert! What do you mainly use the hitch for?

2003 Sierra 2500HD

Very Nice
Product. Far superior than stock. Inspect those GMT800 series trucks gents for rust. Junior Boy at Mulch Depot front loaded my 14GVW equipment trailer. 22 year old OE hitch was no match. Yikes!

by:

All Good and super quick shipping

by:

Build way better than the factory hitch, easy to install and fit perfectly.

by:

Fits like a glove, shipping box was torn to hell but no damage to the hitch. Installed in 30 minutes.

by:

Easy installation very heavy duty we’re using it to haul a camper no complaints

by:

Shipping time was way off. Costing me a customer here at the shop and I have to eat the $400.00 cause I can’t send back. Timely updates or actual shipping timeframes would be helpful.

by:

Good looking hitch and bolted right up. Price was great from Etrailer !

by:

Replaced the OEM hitch with this heavy duty hitch on my 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Duramax.

Fit & finish were top notch as was the hardware.

Installation was relatively easy using a motorcycle jack, a 2 x 10 & a couple of gallon paint cans. Hoisted it into position and bolted it into place using the suppled hardware & two of the OEM GM bolts that were saved after removing the OEM 7,500 lb hitch.

Instructions were clear for this relatively simple task.

With a 16,000 lb rating (17,000 with a WD setup) & a 2400 lb tongue weight limit this hitch is more than my truck is rated for (12,000 lbs) & that provides peace of mind while towing.

by:

Absolutely phenomenal product and easy install. All parts are extreme heavy duty and quality built. I was able to install by myself with a block of wood, a jack stand, and socket set. Would order again

by:

Awesome hitch! Delivered on time and flawless. Fit my duramx perfectly. Removed the old hitch and installed new one in under 30 mins. I would like see this hitch come with a bracket to mount the old 7 way trailer lights/brakes. I recommend this hitch.

by:

Built very well with great quality the frame will let loose before the hitch breaks

by:

I have not pulled with it yet. It looks good and I actually had the Bed off of the frame which made it quite easy to install the hitch. I would say at this time very good product.

by:

This HD Curt hitch is definitely heavy duty, probably didn’t need a hitch this magnitude. I am not afraid to pull any kind of trailer behind my 2500HD Duramax Chevy.
