This is a great heavy duty hitch. It bolts on easy in existing holes. It did move my receiver height up from the factory hitch about 2”. I also had slight interference with my after market 5” exhaust but not a big deal. I would definitely recommend this hitch.

This hitch is replacing the original factory hitch on my '04 Silverado 3500 dually.
Original hitch is a class IV and the new one is a class V, but my God, the difference in construction and the quality of materials used in its construction is as different as night and day!

Folks if you have a 99-07 Silverado or Sierra replace you factory hitch ASAP! I highly recommend this hitch. Installation could not be easier. Finish on curt hitch is very nice hopefully it will hold up well. One thing that could make it better would be an integrated trailer plug bracket. I had concerns of it hanging down lower than factory but it looks great
Wanted a classV hitch, was not sure of class that was on truck .After comparing ,very glad I replaced the old with new. Very well built,and heavy duty,and easy install.
The first thing you notice when compared to the stock hitch is just how much beefier and better quality it is. It weighs a lot more and is made of a lot thicker steel. This thing is made to last! Installation was a breeze, had the old one off and the new Curt on in about a half HR (with air tools) no drilling uses all factory frame holes. I also purchased the 7way plug bracket which screws into the bumper with the provided self tapping screws. The stock hitch was rotted at the most vulnerable points I can't believe I towed a 10,000lb trailer last month with it, just thankful nothing catastrophic happened. Thank you etrailer for the great product, accurate description and fast shipping! I definitely recommend this hitch over the stock hitch on any 2500hd any day! Lot's heavier than the OEM hitch it replaced. The original started cracking on a cross country trip which caused me to leave my utility trailer in western Oklahoma for a month while I continued my trip. etrailer shipped the new hitch to a friend's house in North Carolina where we installed it in a very short time. The old one was scary close to leaving the trailer on the freeway. I've put a lot of miles on the new hitch without any signs of it breaking.
We have a truck with virtually no rust one it. We were shocked when the factory hitch started to fail from corrosion where it attaches to the bumper. We were one bad bump away from catastrophe with the horse and trailer. The failure was such that we would have lost the safety chain connections also.
Putting on the new hitch was very easy. We balanced the hitch on a floor jack and raised it in place. It bolted right in with almost no effort. Nothing to modify and no need to remove the spare tire or exhaust. Total installation time was about 20 minutes (taking the old hitch off took about 30 minutes and with the use of penetrating oil).
This hitch design is exceptionally heavy and avoids attaching to the bumper where the rust formed on the factory hitch.
We also added a new plug connector as the old one is part of the old hitch. With everything now being new, life is easier and less stressful.
Hitch is exactly what was advertised. What would have made it better is if it would have the bracket for the trailer light plug. We cut the one off the old hitch and welded it to the new one.
This was a very nice hitch. Very sturdy and easy install.

The factory hitch on my 2005 Silverado 2500HD was rusted out and in need of repair. The Curt class V XD hitch is a perfect replacement and its much better quality than the OEM version. etrailer shipped it out and I had it a day later. Thanks!

Very well made. Excellent welds and fit was nice. No need to remove or even loosen the spare tire, there was plenty of room to operate. Receiver does sit approx. 2" higher than the factory hitch that I was replacing, but that was not an issue for me. Very happy with the hitch and peace of mind that Trailer will be secure as we travel down the highway. This hitch will carry ANYTHING I will ever hook to it.

Shipping was ok paint a little scratched up but it’s going to get beat up anyway
The only thing I don’t like is they should have came with a mount for the 7 plug harness for all the money you spend I just cut the old one off stock bumper and welded it to the curt
The application for this hitch is not a normal one, and I am sure there are others out there who are wanting to do the same. Vehicle is a 2002 Sierra 2500HD crew cab long bed. The rear bumper is off a 2014 Silverado 1500, mounted 2 inches higher than the factory holes (only applies to 3/4 and 1 ton trucks). This hitch fits perfectly, using the OE mounting holes, and tucks nicely under the bumper notch. The OE hitch that mounts to the factory bumper hangs slightly lower than this does.
You will lose the 7 pin plug mount when replacing the factory hitch. Since I have the NNBS bumper, it is integrated into the bumper with a 7 pin and 4 pin plug. There are vidoes showing the bumper upgrade install, but nobody has verified an aftermarket hitch that works with the newer body style bumper.

Towing a 14k trailer with no issues. Powder coating has held up really well throughout the last year, no signs of flaking or chipping.

good fitment 2005 2500 HD LLY 8' bed with power lift gate with only minor adjustment on center bolt so unit could be 1/2" further forward to clear lift gate.

Holding up great. One suggestion would be to have a mounting location tabs or pre-threaded nuts for kits like an optional trailer plug box, reverse floods, camera etc.
this hitch did fit my '06 gmc3500 4wd crewcab. it used a slightly different bolt arrangement than my OEM tubular "Northern Stamping" hitch. I was confused about the hitch specification "for cutout bumper only", a note in the installation manual. turns out I do have a cutout bumper. it exists behind the license plate where I had no idea it was a thing. this hitch leaves the attachment of the 7pin connector to the installer's imagination. all in all, it took me about 4 hours because it is heavy and I am a very old retired guy who should not be doing this sort of job. it is not technically difficult but it is physically difficult. a very satisfying diy task.
I have a 2005 Chevy Silverado 3500 dually. Factory hitch needed replacing. C15312 fit perfectly and easy to install. Very fast shipping and attentive emails with updates. This hitch receiver comes with 4 new bolts/nuts and you re-use the two bolts on each side closest to bumper. They screw back into the welded nuts on the frame.
