Features to know about

Heavy Loads Made Easy: Class V Strength and 2" Receiver

When you’re towing serious weight, the Curt Class V XD receiver keeps things steady. It’s rated for 16,000 lbs maximum gross trailer weight and 2,400 lbs tongue weight. With a weight distribution setup, that climbs to 17,000 lbs GTW and maintains the same 2,400 lbs tongue capacity. The 2" x 2" receiver works with standard heavy-duty ball mounts and accessories built for real towing jobs. Its square-tube frame gives you the rigidity and stability you want when hauling campers, equipment, or loaded trailers.

Built to Last: Fully Welded Steel with Dual-Coat Corrosion Protection

This hitch is engineered for long-term use in tough conditions. The precision robotic welding ensures every joint is solid and the fit is exact. A protective base coat under a black powder coat finish shields the steel from rust and road grime. The result is a hitch that stays strong and resists corrosion through years of towing in wet or salty conditions.

Straightforward Install: Bolt-On Design with Complete Hardware

No need for welding or complicated fabrication—this hitch bolts directly to the frame using the included hardware kit. The mounting points are pre-aligned for a clean fit, so you can handle installation in your driveway with basic tools. The complete hardware and instructions make it simple to get the hitch mounted and ready to tow without unnecessary steps or modifications.

Ready for Heavy-Duty Use: Confidence for Towing and Hauling Projects

From pulling a camper across the state to moving work trailers around town, this receiver is built for demanding use. Its heavy gauge steel construction and Class V rating let you take on large loads without worrying about flex or fatigue. Whatever the job—hauling gear, towing a trailer, or mounting equipment—you’ll have the strength and stability to do it safely.

Thank you very much!

The trailer hitch is great simple installation but I had to change hooks on my chain from my trailer other than that top notch

@Dan That's a pretty sweet ride!

by:

Direct bolt on. No problems.

by:

The hitch fit perfect. I did it by myself. The hitch is very strong, I think my truck will give out before the hitch will!

by:

Excellent quality and easy installation. It took me longer to get the old hitch off than it did to put the new one on. I highly recommend your products. Well engineered and quality built

by:

Excellent hitch, arrived fast and installation was quick. I have 2011 gmc sierra did not have to remove the spare tire.

by:

Fit good on 2006 1500hd. This weighs a ton and should last. Better than the thin tube factory one

by:

Fit well, easy install!!

by:

Very happy with this. Truly bolt on installation without having to modify anything. Definitely seems much stronger than the factory hitch. Its pretty heavy and awkward to do by yourself but its manageable. It took me roughly 20 minutes from start to finish. I no longer have to worry about my hitch while towing.

by:

This is one well built piece!!

Fantastic piece. I highly recommendnit!

by:

Bought this hitch receiver to replace the old rusted out factory hitch receiver. Bolted right up with no need to drop the spare tire. The differences between this hitch receiver and the factory one are night and day. This thing is solid. My truck will pull apart before this receiver hitch fails. Way overkill for my needs, but I will never worry about a receiver hitch failure!

by:

Quick install and it fits like a glove very happy with my purchase

by:

Does the job. Pretty easy to install, other than somewhat heavy (needed a spare set of hands). Had to drop down spare tire to get the hitch up. Even then, spare tire is still touching hitch (tight fit).

by:

I had purchased a 2006 gmc savanna Thomas short bus and needed a hitch for it. The frame was not a normal savanna width. Searching the etrailer site I found drawings of a hitch I believed would work. I needed to enlarge 2 holes to 5/8inch, clean up 2 1/2 inch holes, and drill 2. 1/2 inch holes. In the end I spent more time running to store to get a needed drill bit. The hitch was installed in less then an hour. This was my 2nd hitch from etrailer the last one went on a Ford e350. Had it on in 20 minutes with my sons help. Both hitches purchased were over kill but the xtra capacity is nothing but piece of mind.

by:

Excellent product heavy duty well built.

by:

This is a heavy duty 2" receiver trailer hitch (C1523). The 3/8" steel it is made of is the way to go. Aside from the capacity of the hitch one really great features is that the safety chain hook holes are large enough for 3/8" clevis slip hooks. Most hitches don't seem to have holes that are too small.

by:

This is an excellent upgrade to the OEM hitch. Installation was easy and the spare tire can remain in it's original location.

Shipment was quick. After getting the a socket deep enough to remove the old bolts from the light duty hitch on my 2013 Silverado, The installation was straight forward and simple with the help of my wife and son. Thanks etrailer.

Awesome. Still hold strong after 1 year. Handles heavy loads without issues. Still please with this purchase and the easy of installation.

by:

Great price, quick shipping even with the pandemic going on. Had a little trouble installing this heavy duty hitch by myself but went on very easy with no issues.
I have not pulled anything yet, but don't expect any issues with this 16k rating on a 1/2 ton truck.

No issues at all. Great product and company to purchase from.

by:

This Hitch is a beast, Super fast shipp ing.

by:

Great build, it does mount differently than stock so if you are replacing your stock one it actually easier to install. My only issue with it is the back holes on my truck were larger holes and the washers the hitch comes with are not great quality metal. I chose to put some flat stock across the top of the frame for more support.

by:

Website said it would fit perfectly for my 2004 Chevy 2500HD. It did not. I had no option to return as I needed to tow the following day so had to work into the night to customize it which therefore I wouldn’t be able to return. I had to use a torch to cut a section out of both sides on the hitch to have it fit around the spring shackle and had to use the torch to make a new bolt hole in the frame closest to the front for that bolt hole. Also drops the receiver an inch lower than the factory height. Was not at all happy but was thankful I had the tools to make it work. Worst thing I hate is that it’s dropped lower than the stock receiver height.

I am sorry to hear that this hitch did not fit your application. I see that this hitch is not a confirmed fit for any of the Chevy HDs. This is only a confirmed fit for the Chevy 2500LD and 1500.

by:

Hitch is very heavy duty but seemed to have been delivered by Ace Ventura. Was very scratched up. Hitch bolted right up on a 2007 GMC 1500 HD. The height of the hitch exactly matched the original. Spare tire does not need to be removed. Per the instructions, you are supposed to re-use the existing aft most frame bolts. Be aware that if you use those, they only engage the weld nut by 3/16 of an inch. That is short of fully maximizing the weld nut. Ideally, the bolt threads should go all the way thru the weld nut plus about 2 threads. I replaced those aft bolts with longer ones that fully engage the weld nut. Since the new hitch does not attach to the bumper, I fabbed a custom Z bracket, using 2 pieces of angle iron, to help carry the load. The light plug assy needed to also be modified. The factory angle is 90 degrees, but the wire harness would bot engage the plug assy. I modified the plug bracket as can be seen in the photos.

Product is alright. As stated in other reviews, the cut outs for the safety chain hooks are poorly designed.
