Question:

I have a Hollywood bike rack that I use to carry 2 ebikes on. It requires a 2 hitch. Is there an adapter I can get to use with your 1 1/4 hitch?

Expert Reply:

We do have the Adapter # HTAD that will allow you to connect to the 1-1/4" Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C66KR. This will give you a 2" receiver for a Hollywood Racks Sport Rider # HLY84FR. Do note that the adapter does reduce the receiver capacity by 50%(350lbs to 175lbs) and cannot be used with trailer towing. So with the bike rack weighing 54lbs it will only allow for up to 121lbs of bikes.

A better option if you have not yet gotten a receiver for your 2022 Toyota RAV4 is the 2" Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13416. With this you will not need an adapter for your bike rack. You will not loose any of the weight capacity for the Hollywood Racks bike rack with the 2" receiver like you will with the adapter.

I recommend adding the Curt Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56434 with your receiver as well. This will allow you to use Auxiliary Lights # C53201 with your bike rack if it impairs the view of your tail lights for other drivers.
