Ground Clearance Concerns - Will Hitch And Bike Rack Scrape On Driveway With 2025 RAV4 Prime

Question:

I’ve got a 2025 RAV4 Prime and want a hitch mainly for a 2-bike platform rack. I’m not towing anything heavy, but I’m wondering, will the Trailer Mate sit too low and scrape my driveway?

Hannah, you’re in good shape here. The Trailer Mate # TMT54FR for your 2025 RAV4 Prime sits up close to the bumper with a concealed cross tube, so you keep solid ground clearance, comparable to many of the common hitches for this vehicle. This receiver opening has a distance of about 10-1/4" inches from the very bottom of the receiver tube to the ground. Unless your driveway has a sharp breakover, you shouldn’t be scraping.
