Features to know about

Add More Utility to Your Ride: Class II 1-1/4" Hitch Receiver Rated for 3,500 lbs

This Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver gives you real-world versatility for small trailers, bike racks, and cargo carriers. With a 3,500-lb gross trailer weight rating and 350-lb tongue weight rating, it’s built for light-duty towing and everyday use. The 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver opening works with Class II accessories like drawbars, ball mounts, or compact cargo trays that make life on the go easier.

Strong and Reliable Construction: Precision-Welded Steel Built to Last

The fully welded square-tube design and robotic manufacturing deliver solid strength and a precise fit. It’s engineered and tested in accordance with SAE J684 standards so you can trust it to handle the load safely. A gloss black powder coat finish is applied over a rust-resistant liquid Bonderite base coat for long-term protection against corrosion, road grime, and weather.

Clean Look Under the Bumper: Concealed Cross Tube Design

The concealed main body tucks neatly under the vehicle, giving the hitch an OE-style appearance. Only the receiver is visible, so it keeps the back end looking tidy and doesn’t interfere with ground clearance. It blends in naturally whether you’ve added a bike rack or left it bare.

Simple Bolt-On Install: No Welding Required

Everything needed comes in the box—mounting hardware and detailed instructions—for a straightforward bolt-on installation. No welding or fabrication is required, and the open-back receiver makes cleaning quick after dusty or muddy trips. Once installed, you’re set up for towing or hauling without extra hassle down the line.

Good no complaints

The hitch fit my RAV4 and works as advertised, but my son had a little more trouble with the installation than expected. Fortunately, a video helped him get the job done, and he was able to add his bike rack to the hitch. It does what he needed, and the price was reasonable.

Hitch is still great for mounting a bike rack. We are very satisfied with the product.

by:

This hitch is great. I bought it for my Rav4 to hitch a bike rack to it. It was easy to install, and easy to get my bike rack on and off.

by:

The product fit perfectly on my Toyota RAV4 and has worked well for hauling my bikes and camping gear.

by:

Good fit on my 2025 Rav 4 and works with my bike rack. I watched install video and did install. Took an hour start to finish. It is heavy and awkward. I did it alone, but would recommend a helper just to hold in place while installing bolts.

by:

Was very easy and the instructions video very helpful

by:

Do note a class III will have better hitches and more options (like smart hitches). Class II does not have any smart hitches.
Happy I saved the $200 over the class III though.

by:

The Curt hitch I bought for my 2023 Rav 4 fit perfectly! The instructions and video were very helpful. There were no surprises.

by:

Delivered quickly and on time.

by:

Took about 15 minutes to install. Very nice. Cannot go wrong with etrailer. Thanks!!!! Great products.

by:

Hitch as advertised and pretty simple to install.
It was not packed well and/or the shipping box was inadequate. It had broken through the box at several points. I saw a similar complaint from a different customer. Luckily, there was no damage to the hitch. Maybe a couple of sharp points need some more carboard or packing paper.

by:

Hitch was ordered Thursday and arrived Saturday. Box was made of a very heavy cardboard with reinforced ends. Also had convenient hand holes for handling. Kudos for that. It would have been a nightmare to try wrestle and hang the Hitch if it was bent. Looking forward to using the Hitch to haul bikes next week. That passenger side rear bolt is a $@#! Well done etrailer.

by:

The product is great. very sturdy. Will use this mainly for my bike rack. Installation was the challenging one. Gave this a 4 rating due to the installation document not really clear about the muffler that needs to be pulled side to side to slowly insert the hitch. Had to call customer support and good thing a video was shared. That was all I need. Customer support was an easy 5 rating for sure!

by:

We use it to haul our bikes. It works great.

by:

Really disappointed. 1st I am nationally certified fleet mechanic with over 30 years experience. I was very disappointed with trying to install. First I made sure the supplied bolts threaded into the factory holes no problem. Could not get the 4th bolt installed tried a combination of 1 per side & 1 front and 1 rear. I did not tighten any bolts to allow for help. Finally I had to elongate 1 front hole to get to thread. What should of been a 30 minute install turned into 1 1/2 hours of frustration .

by:

I was very surprised at how professionally manufactured this trailer hitch was for the price. I have never installed a trailer hitch before and it only took me about 30 minutes. I did use a floor jack to help me since I was doing it by myself you do not need to drop the muffler, if you’re worried about scratching the pipes, just put some tape on them but the trailer hitch will fit. I highly recommend etrailer because their product is very good and very reasonable.

by:

After reviewing the installation video, my husband and I (we are both seniors) were able to install this item fairly easily.

@Sherry That's great! We're happy to hear your Curt # C66KR hitch is still working well for you!

by:

Installation was simple and fast.

by:

Great product and value. Works great with the bike rack.

by:

Packaging a bit beat up when it arrived, however, no damage to the hitch and all bits and pieces were there. Approximately one hour to unpack, set up and do solo install. Definitely would have been easier to install with a second set of arms (muscle).

One year later, still solidly installed and functioning.

by:

Put it on in 20min. If I had someone to help me it would take 10 minutes. No jacking up the car, super easy.

by:

Excellent rating because of price and super fast delivery and installation wasn't too difficult. On the received box, you have to remove numerous metal staples to open, it would be nice if they figured another method. Installation was straight forward on my Toyota Rav. Had to remove factory underneath tow/winch bracket (very easy-2 bolts) first. The hitch fit was a little snug so had to work a little to get it in place. Used blocks to initially get it in place. Got the 2 front bolts in and used a pry bar to get the rear 2 in place (that's the snug part). A floor jack would have made things much easier. One note, there is very little space to get bolts in on passenger side on the Rav so it takes some contorting to get bolts in. Wide open on driver side.

by:

Easy install took about 45 min but you will need the 1 1/4 ball hitch adapter. I had to get the 1 1/4 to 2" converter then the 2 inch hitch adapter but anyone can do this i did it just like the video I have a 2023 rav 4.

by:

Perfect fit. Installed in less then 1 hour. Bike rack slide right into receiver, looks great on my Rav4.

by:

Very pleased with the 1-1/4" Curt Hitch receiver I bought for my Toyota RAV4.
Arrived in perfect shape & I took it to a local shop that was recommended by etrailer. Dealing with etrailer.com to buy the hitch & the quality of the hitch is excellent and the local shop (Dom's Gulf service in Pittsburgh) installed it for a great price and did an excellent job!

  • Trailer Hitch for a 2024 Toyota Rav4 that Does Not require Cutting into the Bumper
Hi Stephanie! Great question and you’re totally right to ask, because most hitches for the 2024 RAV4 do require a bit of bumper trimming. That includes the Oris Detachable Hitch #TS66VR, since it uses a hidden design that needs a hole cut in the fascia for the receiver to come through. If you’d rather skip the cutting, I’d recommend going with the Curt Class 3 Hitch #C77MJ. It bolts right to the frame and sits neatly under the bumper no trimming required. It's not completely concealed...

  • Should I Install A Class 2 Or Class 3 Hitch On My 2024 Toyota RAV4?
Hi Edward! Whenever it is available, I always recommend going Class 3 over Class 2. There are just more options available for accessories and other things for the Class 3 hitches and I think you will be happier with it in the long run. So I say go with the Curt Class III Hitch # C77MJ over the Class II # C66KR for your 2024 Toyota RAV4. You will also want to grab the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56434. This is plug and play, though you...

  • Will Curt Hitch Impact Liftgate Functionality on 2025 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid With Bike Rack
Hey Chuck! The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C66KR may limit the functionality of the hands-free sensor on your 2025 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. The liftgate itself will still work as intended. This is typically unavoidable on vehicles with the hands-free function because of the location of the sensors and where your typical receiver sits. However, placing your foot to either side of the receiver in the "sweet spot" will still trigger the hands-free sensor. The only absolute way around this is...

The Curt hitch # C66KR will not work for your car because it is the Plug-in Hybrid, you had 2025 Toyota RAV4 put in the fit guide, but you have the PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle). • Which Hitch for 2024 Toyota RAV4 has Best Ground Clearance
The hitch with the best ground clearance that fits your 2024 Toyota RAV4 is the Curt part # C66KR but this is a 1-1/4 inch hitch. Only the hitch opening hangs below the rear bumper which allows for the better ground clearance. If you instead wanted the more popular 2 inch hitch size you would want the part # e23ZR. • 1-1/4 or 2 Inch Trailer Hitch For 2024 Toyota RAV4
I always recommend going with a 2" trailer hitch receiver over a 1-1/4" hitch, and that's definitely the route I suggest for your 2024 Toyota RAV4. Reason is there are just so, so many more options for both accessories like bike racks or even ball mounts if you plan on towing. Really, the only exception is if you already have a bike rack that fits a 1-1/4" that you love and want to keep using for years - so then use the 1-1/4" Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C66KR. There isn't a different installation method for the # C66KR which negates the possibility, but I will say that I haven't heard of this happening with this hitch. The installation of a hitch like the # C66KR will not interfere with the power liftgate on your 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. The only thing it may impact is the hands-free sensor. So your key fob and the button will continue to work as intended. However, I would recommend installing a Class III hitch like the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e23ZR over the Class II hitch. The Curt Class II Hitch # C66KR is slightly easier to install than the Draw-Tite Class II # 36675. For your Class III hitches, you have the Draw-Tite # DT82QR and the Curt # C13416 hitches.
