Question:
Can you back up without any adjustments before doing it? This should be one of the bullet points at the top, most people dont think out this as theyre buy a hitch.

Hello Tim,
Are you asking if you can back up with just the head installed on the Weigh Safe True Tow Weight Distribution Hitch # WS79VR, when you put the trailer coupler onto the ball? If so, then yes because at that point it is really just a ball mount with a scale. Once you are connected I do not see why you would need to back up. The really neat thing about the weigh safe system is that once you have your trailer hooked up and see what the tongue weight is on the scale, you open the app to answer a few questions and then it tells you where to install the spring bars, and it will even tell you the weight to shoot for when you adjust the lead screw. Or maybe you are asking if you can back up before adjusting the lead screw, the answer would also be yes, the weigh safe is basically just going to be more lose at that time and will not be distributing the weight properly, but I still do not see why you would need to back up before adjusting.
If I am not understanding what you are asking please let me know. If you want to shoot me over your loaded tongue weight, I am happy to find the correct Weigh Safe weight distribution hitch for you. You can respond by clicking the "RESPOND TO KATE F" below.

I’m talking about when I pull into a campground and lined up to back into the RV spot, can I back in right away or do I have to get out and removing the spring arms or other items before backing up.
