Weight Distribution Shank Recommendation for 2-1/2 inch Hitch for Reese System
Updated 05/14/2022 | Published 05/13/2022 >
Question:
I have the Reese weight distribution hitch part#49913 which has a 2” shank. I was pulling with a 2020 Tundra with a 2” receiver. I use this to pull a 30’ Winnebago travel trailer. I recently upgraded my truck to a 2021 Ford F-250 which has a 2 1/2 inch receiver. Should I use the Reese Titan reducer 58102 as the answer to my problem? Is this safe or do I need to look for a different answer?

Your best option would be a new weight distribution shank that fits the 2-1/2 inch hitch size directly like with the # C17131 as using hitch sleeve adapters adds unwanted movement which most people don't care for. The shank I recommended is a Curt but it's completely compatible with your Reese system since the dimensions of the mounting holes is the same.
