Features to know about

Know Your Weight. Drive Safer.

In use photo of BTBRV 1K scale Close up in use photo of BTBRV 1K scale

Your trailer looks fine. Your truck's not squatting. But that doesn't mean your rig is safe! The Big Truck Big RV (BTBRV) 2K scale takes the guesswork out of loading. It reads your actual tongue weight, so you'll know if you're in that safe 10 to 15 percent zone. Too far back and you'll fishtail. Too far forward and you'll overload the hitch. This scale shows you where you're at before any of that happens. This isn't just about getting the load right. Your family's riding in that truck too.

Tested, Trusted, and JD Approved

JD's the guy behind Big Truck Big RV and he doesn't just slap his name on gear he doesn't use. He's been towing long enough to know what works and what doesn't. He's used this scale, trusted it, and loaded it up with his own family riding shotgun. This scale's been under real trailers and taken on real trips, not just a showroom floor. If it says BTBRV, it's been tested and used in the kind of conditions that separate the good stuff from the junk.

Easy and quick to use to confirm tongue weight
by:
It came with a coating of hydraulic oil, as if it is leaking. Way too tall for checking the tongue weight on my enclosed trailer at towing height. I pull a level trailer. If it were too short I could always add shims under it.
Will shorten it by about 3 inches. Then if needed I can shim/block it up. Just hope the oil was from sloppy assembly at the manufacturing facility.
by:
Worked well but does not nest very well in the SnapPad.
by:
Easy to use and an accurate scale. Han to use some blocks underneath to raise it for my trailer but easy peasy.
by:
Very well made unit. The Snap Pad is a big help. Dial is eazy enough to read

  • Why Choose the 2,000 lb BTBRV Tongue Weight Scale Over 1,000 lb Model
Hey Jeff, great question! Choose the 2,000 lb model if you tow larger travel trailers, enclosed trailers, dump trailers, equipment trailers, or other heavy-duty trailers with tongue weights that could exceed 1,000 lbs. It works for lighter trailers as well, and can be handy if you have a variety of trailers you're working with. The BTBRV Tongue Weight Scale # BTBRV49FR measures tongue weights up to 2,000 lbs, giving you the capacity needed for larger towing applications. It is also available...

  • Recommended Weight Distribution Hitch Rating for 2026 Grand Design Imagine 2670MK/2800BH
Hey Moses! With that GVWR you either have the 2026 Grand Design Imagine 2670MK or the 2800BH. The correct rating for a weight distribution hitch (WDH) depends on your tongue weight. It looks like the dry tongue weight for the 2670MK is 785 lbs and the 2800BH is 746 lbs. Once you add propane and batteries you'll be sitting a bit higher. You also have to consider what you load in the trailer. It is a good idea to measure using a scale like # BTBRV49FR or # BTBRV76FR (with SnapPad). Tongue...

  • How to Determine Tongue Weight on Trailer
Hey Travis! Probably the easiest thing to do is pick up a scale like the BTBRV # BTBRV76FR. You can use this to measure your tongue weight, and also make sure things are properly balanced. You can also take it to a commercial scale, or try the bathroom scale method. I attached a help article further down on this page which covers all three methods. Once you know your tongue weight you can determine which weight distribution hitch is best for your setup. I recommend Equal-i-zer since it...

  • Is 2k BTBRV Tongue Weight Scale for Trailers Adjustable
Hey Neal, welcome back! The Big Truck Big RV Tongue Weight Scale for Trailers - 2,000 lbs # BTBRV49FR is not adjustable. It has a fixed height of 17-1/4". At that height, and with a 2,000 lb capacity, you will be able to get a measurement on a lot of different trailers. The # BTBRV76FR with the SnapPad will add approximately 1" to that overall height along with the increased stability. If you needed more height beyond that, you could add a SnapPad StakPad # SN74VR or other leveling blocks...
