I would be happy to help make a couple of recommendations for your 2017 Ford Explorer Sport Utility. As requested we do have a Draw-Tite hitch for your Explorer it is the Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver item # 76034. This hitch is custom fit and mounts directly to your Explorer's frame with included hardware. I have linked an installation video and also attached a picture so you can see what this hitch will look like once it is installed on your vehicle.
Depending on what you are needing a wiring harness for and whether or not your Explorer has the tow package we have a couple of options. The Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # 118540 will provide you with a 4-flat connector to control your trailer or accessories lighting functions if you do not have the tow package.
If you also need a 7-Way connector to control your trailer's brakes you will need to add an additional harness. It is the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires item # ETBC7. The kit includes a pre-wired 7- and 4-way trailer connector that mounts easily at the rear of your vehicle with an included bracket. This kit is designed for use on a vehicle with an existing 4-way flat trailer connector and plugs directly into it.
If your Explorer has the factory tow package you'll only need one harness and that is the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector item # 118272. This harness plugs into your OEM port and will provide you with a 7-Way connector to control both your trailer's lights and brakes.
To round out your towing setup I recommend the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches item # C45534. This towing kit will provide you with a 2" ball and a fixed ball mount with a 3/4" rise and 2" drop. It also includes a hitch pin and clip, hitch receiver lock with keys, hitch cover, and a storage case.
