Expert Reply:
For your 2014 Mini Cooper hardtop with the single side exhaust and spare tire underneath you will need the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7290. The EcoHitch # EH47FR that you are looking at is only compatible with the John Cooper Works and S series Mini's. I have linked an installation video below that will help you through the installation process for the receiver on your Mini.
The ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness # 119250KIT will allow you to add a 4-way flat connector without having to splice into your tail light wiring. This will ensure that you do not damage the factory wiring. The 4-way flat connector can connect to most small trailers as well as Auxiliary Lights # C53201. The auxiliary lights are needed if your cargo carrier or bike rack impair the clear view of your tail lights on your Mini.
