If your Grand Cherokee has the factory 7-way at the back bumper, it'll be prewired for a brake controller. You'll need the # TK93VR wiring harness and the # 331-TPH-017 adapter. The # TK93VR harness will plug into the factory connector located under the dash to the left of the steering column, above where the driver's left knee would be. The # 331-TPH-017 adapter plugs into the harness, the other end plugs into the controller.
If your Grand Cherokee does NOT have the factory 7-way, you'll want to begin with a functional 4 pole trailer connector, which can be installed using part # 118727. You'll also need our Brake Controller Installation Kit, part # ETBC7.
The control knob for the Redarc Liberty brake controller would install within easy reach of the driver. An unused switch knockout in the dash or console makes for the perfect mounting location, but if a knockout isn't available, a mounting bezel like # 331-TPSI-002 would make for a professional looking installation. We also have the Universal Mounting Panel for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controller Control Knob item # 331-TPSI-001 which measures 1-1/4 by 1 inch.
