E-Z Lube and Easy Grease-Compatible Hub for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube axle or etrailer Easy Grease to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

  • Can Harbor Freight Haulmaster Hub Be Replaced with Standard Hub
Hey Dan, thanks for reaching out! I can help you get some standard parts on your Harbor Freight Haulmaster, but we'll likely have to get you new spindles or a new axle for that. The spindle on a trailer is what determines the correct bearings so if your current setup doesn't use standard bearings then there isn't a way to "force" standard parts to work. What bearings and grease seal does your trailer currently use, and what are the hub center and spring seat dimensions of your axle? I'm...

  • Hub Replacement for 1974 Prowler Camper with 3500-lbs Axles and 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern
In order to replace the hubs on your 1974 Prowler camper, you need to find a hub with bearings that will fit on the spindles of your current 3500-lbs axles. Since you're looking for hubs with a bolt pattern 5 on 4-1/2", as long as your current spindles have # L68149 inner bearings(1.378" inner diameter) and # L44649 outer bearing (1.063" inner diameter) you can use the # AKIHUB-545-35-EZ-K to replace your current hubs. These hubs are pre-greased and ready to install. These hubs also use...

  • Axle-Less Suspension Recommendation for a 2025 InTech Flyer Pursue Trailer
Hey Jeff, thanks for reaching out! It looks like your InTech Flyer Pursue has a 2,200 lb GVWR so for your application I recommend the 2.2K Heavy Duty Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension # ASR1THDS02 so you get the right amount of suspension help. Then from there you just need 2 of the Easy Grease Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-545-35-EZ-K and you'll be set!

  • Replacement Hub for Tie Down Engineering 11033
I believe we can narrow this down based on the information you are referencing. However, the best way to be sure is to measure your existing bearings or spindle with a digital caliper like the # PTW80157. It looks like one bearing is stamped with # L44649. The other bearing measurement taken was 1.40" which tells me they probably used a tape measure. The closest thing, and what would make the most sense, is that it was actually 1.378" and a # L68149 bearing. This bearing combination,...

Since your 2015 Jayco Jayflight 185 RD has a 3,500 lb axle the pre-greased hub part # AKIHUB-545-35-EZ-K is the correct fitting hub. It looks like you have a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern too so that matches as well.

I'm sorry but I could not find any information about the part number 140883: HUB,COMPL,3500#141472 from Tracker. Since it mentions 3500 it does make me think it is for a 3,500lb axle but you will want to check your bearings and grease seal to ensure the Hub # AKIHUB-545-35-EZ-K is the correct replacement for your spindle. Inner bearing: # L68149 (1.378" inner diameter) Outer bearing: # L44649 (1.063" inner diameter) Grease Seal: # 58846 (1.719" inner diameter) If you have a different...

  • Looking for Replacement Hub for Trailstar Trailer Model No. TXXPT175P
Hey Tim, most likely the trailer hub part # AKIHUB-545-35-EZ-K is correct for your trailer as it most likely has a 3,500 lb capacity hub with a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern but I would need for you to verify your axle capacity for me as the fits are very specific based on capacity. On the axle there should be a tag with the capacity listed. I tried getting this info from Tracker but it's not info listed.

  • Recommendation For Replacement Hubs For Dexter E-Z Lube Torsion Axle
Thank you for the information but I need more details to help you because Dexter has several torsion axle options. To determine the right trailer hubs, you will need to know your axle capacity. The easiest way to find this out is to look for a plate/sticker somewhere on the axle that provides information like part numbers, lengths, axle capacity. If you can not find a label then find the size of your axle tube: Round with 1-3/4 inch diameter=2,000-lb axles, Round with 2-3/8 inch diameter=3,500-4,400-lb...

If your spindle has a zerk on it then you have an E-Z lube spindle and you will want to use either the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K if you have drum brakes or the part # AKIHUB-545-35-EZ-K if you don't have brakes. Potentially - it all just depends on what bearings and seals match with your spindle.
