The 2000 Chevrolet Silverado's all come with some sort of factory trailer wiring under the rear bumper that you can attach a trailer connector to. There are models with simply blunt cut wires and in which case you would need the Pollak 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector Socket w/ Wiring Harness and Mounting Bracket part # PK11898. There are also models that already have a plug you can attach a trailer connector to and there is no hard wiring required and in which case you'd simply use the Pollak Replacement 7-Pole part # PK11893 and Mounting Bracket and Installation Hardware part # PK12711U.
