Question:
Can I use the Thule T-2 on my 2012 Nissan rogue

Yes, you can use the Thule T2 Pro XTR Platform Bike Rack, # TH83JV, on your 2012 Nissan Rogue as long as you have a 2 inch trailer hitch. If you have a 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch, then you will want part # TH23JV or the # TH9045. There are a few things to consider when choosing a platform style bike rack for your vehicle. First, you will want to make sure that you can mount your bikes on the bike rack without the bikes hitting your bumper. The T2 rack measures 7 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the rack, so this should not be an issue.
The other factor to consider is if you will be able to carry the bike rack in the folded position when you are not carrying your bikes. This rack measures 5 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the bike rack when folded. I recommend measuring from the center of the hitch pin hole on your trailer hitch to the rear-most point of your rear bumper to determine how much clearance you will need (see photo).
If you find that you need a bike rack with more clearance, I recommend looking at the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Platform Bike Rack, # SH22G for 2 inch hitches. You will want part # SH12G for 1-1/4 inch hitches. This bike rack has 9 inches of clearance between the hitch pin hole and the closest part of the bike rack when folded.
I have attached demonstration videos for both of these bike racks for you to check out.
