Tongue Weight Capacity of RoadMaster High-Low Drop Adapter # RM-070

Question:

200 lb tongue wt seems awful low. Is it really adequate enough when towing my vehicle with my tow bar? What about going over bumps and uneven roads when the towed vehicle may be bouncing.? Does this not put a lot of tongue weight on the RM-070?

When you have all 4 wheels of the toad on the ground, the tongue weight is next to nothing. The 200 pound rating does account for sudden but brief increases in tongue weight such as bumps in the road.

The idea of using a high-low adapter like # RM-070 is so that the tow bar is level. A level tow bar means the tongue weight will be low.
