What ball mount parts do you recommend for e98862 on Honda Odyssey 2011?
Question:
Hi, Ive got a 2011 Honda Odyssey Ex-L and will buy e98862 receiver mount with the 2inch receiver. What ball mount kit/parts do I need that will provide the correct rise to attach a trailer like a UHaul or a camper. Please include what pin I should purchase too and if there is a locking version. Thanks!

When we installed the etrailer brand # e98862 hitch on a 2011 Honda Odyssey, we found that the receiver height was 14 inches, measured from the ground to the inside top of the receiver tube. The correct ball mount will depend on the coupler height of the trailer you're wanting to tow.
Typically, trailer couplers range from 16-19 or so inches high. U-Haul coupler heights are usually right at 18 inches, so if you were to use a ball mount with a 4 inch rise like part # D-28, you'd definitely be in the ballpark. The trailer doesn't need to be perfectly level, but you want to get within an inch or two, and the # D-28 would put you right there. You'll also need a trailer ball. U-Haul used adjustable couplers, so a 2 inch ball like # 63845 would work great. For a hitch pin, use # PC3 or for a locking version, use the stainless steel # e98882.
You'll also need a trailer wiring harness like part # C56378. I've linked to install videos for the # e98862 hitch and the wiring harness I recommended.
